Hi, I’m Tori-
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Behavioral Specialist (BSL). My passion is helping others heal and make meaningful changes. My priority is to provide a safe, comfortable space for you to explore your life, release emotions, discard limiting beliefs and habits and realign with your purpose. I am a counselor who strives to be authentic, open-minded and empathetic. I am here to listen as well as assist you in building up skills to be at ease with past events and conquer current obstacles. It takes courage to ask for help. When you are ready, I am honored to help you to align with your best self and live the life you want and deserve.
I earned my Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology at Millersville University. I have been in the field of mental health since 2010 and an outpatient counselor since 2016. Prior to becoming a counselor, I worked with children as a before/after school and summer camp counselor. I spent a few years as a Therapeutic Support Staff for children in the community. I also worked as an Outreach Counselor at Millersville University for a couple years helping college freshman navigate the adjustment to college. I enjoy doing research, learning more about psychology, holistic health and staying up to date on the latest evidence based therapeutic interventions. My master’s thesis was on the use of a biofeedback-mindfulness program in children experiencing social/emotional disorders.
I have experience working with a wide variety of populations, backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses and cultures in the outpatient counseling setting. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and integrate a multicultural approach. I have experience helping with various mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, post-partum anxiety/depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder, dissociative disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, autism, intellectual disabilities), personality disorders, eating disorders, addictions and more. I also provide support to those with concerns regarding grief, loss, intergenerational trauma, parenting, relationships, couples/marriage counseling, self-esteem, codependency, worry, stress, and career counseling.
My therapeutic style is a talk-therapy mix of client-centered, trauma-informed and cognitive behavioral (CBT). I utilize techniques from a variety of other therapeutic interventions as well including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Attachment Theory, Biofeedback, Strengths-Based and Creative therapies (art, music, literature, forest). I have specialized training in mindfulness and enjoy co-creating guided meditations. I aim to empower others to recognize their strengths, capabilities and resiliency.
When I am not working I enjoy reading, learning new things, nature, hiking, sight seeing, traveling, gardening, nutrition and yoga. I love the arts including music, painting, photography, drawing, poetry and dance. I am fascinated by Eastern Philosophy, Native American culture, natural medicine and gemstones. I adore the time I get to spend with loved ones. If it seems like I may be a good fit for you, let’s get started on this journey together!
