Jenna Szuchy, LPC (they/them)
Hello! Nice to “meet” you. I completed my BA in Sociology from Duquesne University in 2013 and received my MS in Clinical Counseling in 2018.
I have been in the human services field for over a decade and have been counseling since 2017. I am working on my certification in postpartum care and work with a wide variety of folks!
I have experience treating Bipolar Disorder, Postpartum Depression/Anxiety, Depression, Anxiety, OCD and reflecting on interpersonal stressors (relationships, uncertainty about the future, transitioning to a new phase of your life).
I utilize many different therapy modalities based on my client’s personalities and needs. I am well versed in the following evidence-based therapies: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Social Rhythm Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
My approach will depend entirely on you! What you enjoy, what you don’t enjoy, and which works best for your problem area. I am relaxed and find humor is an excellent tool for healing and connecting with others.
My goal is to make you self-sufficient. You should learn skills and techniques in our therapy sessions to make me obsolete! My biggest takeaway from being a therapist is I often find you already hold many of the tools to be your best self; I help you put them all together! The key therapy component is a successful therapeutic relationship; let’s build trust together!
I am a parent to two awesome little humans and two very well-fed cats in my free time. The most prominent belief in my professional and personal philosophy is to treat people like they matter because they do. I’m a lifelong learner and enjoy studying and gaining new information. As a sociologist, I am fascinated and well versed in many walks of life. However you choose to live, I support you.
