  • Andrew Weinberg, LCSW (he/him)

Hi, my name is Andrew Weinberg. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Supervisor. I received my master’s degree in Social Work from SUNY Stony Brook’s School of Social Welfare and have been an outpatient therapist since 2003.

I find that treatment works best when we approach it as a team: I as your “guide” and you as the active participant working towards change. Through this dynamic, we can create a space for transformation and growth. While we are on this journey together, we may not always agree or see things the same. It is not my goal to get you to think like me; instead, I want you to be able to question/challenge, think, and make decisions for yourself that serve you.

I have extensive experience working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, sexual identity, and gender identity.

My style of therapy tends to be more on the behavioral side. I find cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy to be my default. However, I am familiar with a variety of other modalities and can tailor treatment accordingly based on your individual needs and wants. I am trained in the Matrix Model, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

I am also a Certified Transgender Care Therapist. I received my certification through the International Transgender Certification Association in 2018. Given all that life can be, people must have a space to reflect, process, and create meaningful change(s) in their lives. That is the space that I try and provide for people.

In our first sessions together, I will use the space to get to know you and for us to identify your treatment goals. We will discuss various strategies/interventions that we can use to meet these goals and decide on a course that is right for you. If this sounds like your kind of jam, reach out and schedule. I appreciate your taking the time to read my bio and hope to serve you well should you choose to work with me.
