Hi, I’m Rella!
As a Licensed Social Worker, I help people feeling overwhelmed by life stressors and the idea of change to create new mindsets and experiences. I guide them in gaining insight into past and present patterns so that they can grow and build new futures in which they will feel peace, clarity, joy, and hope.
I know from my own experiences as well as from helping people dealing with a variety of issues that life can be wavy. Even though some waves knock us down and seem endless, I’ve learned that there are many ways of overcoming each wave and that there are always calm waters in sight. My clients and I work together to find the tools and strategies that work best for them. I believe that each individual has unique strengths and abilities, inspiring growth and healing.
I enjoy working with teens, college students, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and adjusting to new life changes. My clients build skills in areas such as communication, self-compassion, and self-love.
Through my training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), my clients challenge unhelpful thoughts, leading to positive changes in feelings and behaviors. I am also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), in which children, adolescents, and their parents overcome the impact of traumatic events. Additionally, I like using psychoeducation, mindfulness as well as experiential techniques inspired by creativity from different art forms including music, fine arts, writing, and movement.
Some would describe me as artsy, as I treasure creativity. Hobbies of mine include baking, cooking, playing music, juggling, attempting to dance, and drawing. I also love the outdoors, bicycling, hiking, tennis, and being around nature.
Beginning as a compassionate listener as a child, I have enhanced this passion with a psychology degree at Franklin and Marshall College, as well as a Masters in Social Service at Bryn Mawr College focusing in clinical work. With years of schooling and clinical experience, I am here to help people learn, heal, and grow.
If you’re looking for a down-to-earth therapist with a fresh perspective who loves working creatively with clients, please call and set up an appointment to meet with me!
