Hi! My name is Lauren Shandler and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master’s Degree from Temple University in 2012. I am trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and my specialty is working with children and teenagers.
I have been working as a therapist for eight years and am excited to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with you. My approach to life is similar to my approach to therapy in that every person and situation is unique and therefore requires a variety of options. I pull from a variety of interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused CBT and strength-based approaches. Personally, I have found success in setting goals and seeking support from others to consistently stay motivated, which I model for my clients. When working with children, I like to use a variety of play therapy techniques while utilizing games, books and art activities. This allows the client to feel free to express themselves in a different way and also making therapy fun.
I have successfully been providing telehealth therapy to clients and am confident in my abilities to navigate the process with others as well as create and maintain connections with clients in a warm and inviting space.
When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my husband, family and our new puppy. I love to bake and exercise. I can’t wait to hear about all of your adventures.
