I have been working in the mental health field since 2011 and have been practicing as an outpatient therapist since 2015. I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Millersville University. In the course of my training I have worked in outpatient treatment settings, crisis counseling, and inpatient hospitalization, which has given me exposure to various mental health issues and diagnoses.
Through working with a wide variety of clients and mental health issues, I have found that I am passionate about working with individuals and couples who are struggling with relationship difficulties, trauma, anxiety, depression, and/or mood instabilities. Being a therapist provides me the opportunity to connect with people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives… and hopefully, to help recreate the sense of wholeness that has been missing.
My therapy style is eclectic, with foundations in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I enjoy taking a collaborative approach to therapy, where we will both be taking an active role in the process. I do, however, recognize that there is stigma and uncertainty attached to seeking out mental health treatment, and my main focus is to meet my clients where they are at in this present moment. My first goal for treatment is always to provide a safe and comfortable environment that promotes a positive therapeutic relationship.
If this sounds like the type of therapy you’re looking for and you’d like to work together, call and schedule an appointment with me soon!
