Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for Employers

    Overview

EAP is a benefit that some employers offer to their employees as part of their compensation package. It is a confidential counseling service to support the well-being of employees in the workplace and in their personal lives. It is a voluntary service that provides assessments, short term counseling, and referrals for other services after the EAP services have ended.

Employees may seek out counseling services for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship issues, stress and grief.

Typically, EAP services are a maximum of 3 sessions per year per employee. These 3 sessions are paid for by the employer. The employee then has the option of continuing the service by utilizing their health insurance or choosing to self-pay, seeking out other services based on the therapist’s recommendation, or if they met their goals after the 3 sessions they may choose to end services at that time.

Depending on the employer’s arrangement, EAP may also extend to immediate family members.

The National Business Group on Health estimates that on average 5.5% of employees utilize EAP benefits.

    Return on Investment

EAPs can help employers reduce absenteeism, workers’ compensation claims, health care costs, accidents and grievances. In addition, they can address safety and security issues, improve employee productivity and engagement, and reduce costs related to employee turnover.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports that “all of the published studies indicate that EAPs are cost-effective.” And the U.S. Department of Labor reports that for every dollar invested in an EAP, employers generally save anywhere from $5 to $16.

    Program and Investment

Move Forward Counseling is now offering contracts to employers who would like to offer EAP benefits to their employees. Our practice has a team of qualified therapists who are able to provide services in a timely manner to your company’s staff. We are also available for presentations to your staff on wellness topics, such as stress management, mindfulness techniques and others.

Our model is a subscription service, meaning your business pays an annual subscription fee to provide access for your employees.  This fee is based on the number of employees and are listed below.  If employees use services above that amount, you will be charged a fee-for-service rate.

    EAP Subscription Pricing by Year

During our initial set up phase we will discuss with you what services you would like to offer to your employees and what data you would like us to collect about how the services are being utilized. All employers will be subject to a one time set up fee of $250.

Our services will be provided via telehealth or in the office setting. We will only partner with businesses with whom we already are an in-network provider with their employee’s health insurance so the transition to continue services, if they so choose, is seamless.
